September 4 ,2019 all the University of Cebu students gathered in Cebu coliseum to witness the opening of Intramurals in all branches of UC here in Cebu including CTS. It was started by a Holy Mass and the competitions followed.

One of the highlights in the opening was the introducing of the delegates from every school. But students were really excited to witness the search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2019 and also the PAHUGYAW.

Many students were cheering for their schools as well as us, the METC students. And by God’s grace the winner of the Ms. Intramurals was Jewel, the pride of UC METC basic education department and the winner for Mr. Intrams was Mr. Isaiah Hontiveros . For the PAHUGYAW, the Serapio which is the dance crew pride of METC got the 2nd place.

After the General Opening. We, METC students reported to our school to have our own opening for our Intramurals 2019. This year’s Intramurals is way different from the previous years . This year’s grand opening was remarkable for all the students because METC did the confetti which is also done but other branches of UC in Cebu.

After the very nice, remarkable grand opening ,students began to look for enjoyment. For athletes they immediately reported to their area for their sports but for ordinary students they nay go to the various booths prepared by the different clubs. It was full of enjoyment.

Healthy Lifestyle vs. Unhealthy Lifestyle

A way of living of individuals, families (households), and societies, which they manifest in coping with their physical, psychological, social, and economic environments on a day-to-day basis.

Healthy Lifestyle

healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people’s health and well-being. Healthy living is a lifelong effect. The ways to being healthy include healthy eating, physical activities, weight management, and stress management.

healthy lifestyle has both short and long term health benefits. Long term, eating a balanced diet, taking regular exercise and maintaining a healthy weight can add years to your life and reduce the risk of certain diseases including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and obesity.

Benefits for having a healthy lifestyle

  1. Controls weight
  2. Improves mood
  3. Combats diseases
  4. Boosts energy
  5. Improves longevity

Unhealthy Lifestyle

Lifestyle diseases are defined as diseases linked with the way people live their life. This is commonly caused by alcohol, drug and smoking abuse as well as lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating.

Disadvantages of Unhealthy Lifestyle

  1. Obesity
  2. Nutrient Deficiency
  3. Illness
  4. High blood pressure.
  5. High cholesterol.
  6. Heart disease and stroke.
  7. Type-2 diabetes.
  8. Osteoporosis.
  9. Some cancers.

There it is! We all have different lifestyles, it depends on us on how we manage it. We must always choose and do what is better for us especially on our health.

“Treat Healthy Lifestyle as your Happy Pill”

Every people in this world has its own way of living life. Some live happily, some live with sad family. But to be happy, you must start it from yourself. But how to start happiness in yourself? Simply appreciate your self and love your imperfections. Do things that can make you look pretty, healthy and good. HAVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! There are so many things to do in connection with healthy lifestyle. We have proper and healthy diet, have a proper exercise every morning and in the afternoon, always be positive, avoid stress, go to places that can make you relax even just one a week, etc. There are so many things that you can do when dealing with healthy lifestyle and whether you believe me or not all of those can make you happy.

Of all those things I’ve mentioned let’s focus on “proper exercise every morning and afternoon”. Why do we need to exercise? Is it really helpful for us? YES! Having exercise can increase your body endurance and your muscles will be much stronger when you do it properly and when you do the executions properly. There are so many benefits that exercise can do to your body. It can also help in making your life longer that’s why people ages 40 and above still do proper exercise.

So everyone do a healthy lifestyle for you to find happiness and contentment in yourself

Well if you want to have a Healthy lifestyle. You need to discipline yourself in everything you do(especially eating), balance everything to maintain or have a healthy lifestyle or try working out. Just like that picture illustrates. Push-up, weight-lifting and many more. These are the examples of Workout. Also Workout is the best routine to do when you want to achieve healthy and active lifestyle

Why do we need to achieve/have a healthy lifestyle?

-Because if your lifestyle is inactive and unhealthy, your lifespan will be shorten or you may die early

-Being healthy should be part of your overall lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Feeling good about yourself and taking care of your health are important for your self-esteem and self-image. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for your body.
